Requirement and Eligibility

To qualify for citizenship by descent in St. Kitts and Nevis, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least one parent who is/was a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis
  • Provide documentary evidence of the parent's citizenship
  • Be able to prove the biological or legal relationship with the qualifying parent
  • Submit all required documentation and fees
  • Pass necessary background checks

Required Documentation are

  • Power of Attorney from the parent making the application. 
  • R4 Form: 2 copies to be completed, with the parent-applicant signing the two forms before a Notary Public (or a lawyer if no Notaries Public are in the country. 
  • Medical Form (see attached to the R4 form): This must be prepared by a Medical Doctor;
  • 4 passport-sized photos of the baby. All the requirements for an adult's photo apply. That is: 35mm X 45mm; photo printed in color on glossy or semi-glossy photo paper; neutral expression (if possible with a baby); no teeth showing; applicant must be facing directly forward so that both ears are equally and fully seen from the front; hair must be brushed off of the forehead and behind of the ears;
  • 2 certified copies of the baby's Birth Certificate 
  • Certified copy of parent's (or both parents') Certificates of Registration and their St. Kitts and Nevis passport(s) (depending on if just one or both are citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis)
  • Certified copy of parents' passports from their country of origin;
  • Passport Application form for the baby.
